We funded feed for rhino orphans in a care facility in Kwazulu-Natal. Several of these orphans were found after the large scale dehorning in Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park in 2024, having lost their mothers due to poaching for rhino horn. We dread to think the horrors that these rhino calves have had to endure before they were rescued. These calves are cared for until they are old enough to be released back into the wild safely. The location of the facility is confidential and the orphans are raised with minimal human intervention to facilitate their release as wild rhinos.

Funding supplemental feed is highly impactful as we go into the dry winter months in South Africa, when veld grass will become more scarce and less nutritious.
