Raising funds to cover medical bills for Bandit, the K9

Assisting Kilo9 Academy to collect donations

Wild Wonderful World helped Kilo9 Academy collect donations to cover a R56 000 medical bill for one of their K9 dogs, Bandit. Because of Kilo9's committed supporters, they raised double that amount! Here's a little bit about Bandit:

Bandit has been a wildlife conservation working dog his whole life, specialising in detection and bite work (apprehension/protection). Over the past 8 years he has patrolled the bush, caught poachers, rescued our endangered wildlife and saved his handler's life. Bandit has sacrificed his body and dedicated his life's purpose to the conservation of our wildlife.

While chasing a ball, his carpal joint snapped and hyperextended. He needed expensive and specialised surgery to fuse his paw in place, as this joint can not be repaired. Bandit is part of Kilo9 Academy's registered nonprofit program, meaning they have never charged a cent for any of the work he has done over the years.

We were glad to play a small part in collecting and transferring the funds to Kilo9 Academy (after technical difficulties with their PayPal page). Bandit is recovering well and is back to being his happy self.

You can still donate directly to Kilo9 Academy on their website, or via our USA based charity.
