Every hour of training, every flight, and every track saves lives - of both wildlife and the rangers (human and K9) who protect them. To complete their training, these pups need another $70,000. High-Speed Tracking Hounds are in active service for about 6 years. Before that, they undergo 2-3 years of rigorous training.
Female founded and run by Robynne Oosthuizen, Luna Hounds specialises in breeding and training Blue Tick Coon Hounds as free running anti-poaching dogs. These hounds achieve a whopping 85% success rate in poacher tracking and apprehension. All contributions help to support Luna Hounds to start training the next litter of hounds and prepare them for deployment in reserves across Africa.
