Impala Saved From Snare

February 2024
Wild Wonderful World provides funding to save any and all wildlife, no matter the species!

Wild Wonderful World was asked to fund the rescue of this female impala who was found trapped in a snare. Because of community issues at the reserve where she was found, no funding was available. The impala was spotted by guides with a snare around her chest. Unfortunately, she disappeared before the veterinary team could get there. It took a few days to find her again and by that time, the snare had slipped to her hips and was starting to tighten and cut into her abdomen. We made the decision to remove the snare to prevent further, worse injury and eventually certain death. While impala are far from endangered, the Wild Wonderful World Rapid Response Fund exists to rescue all wildlife in need, as all animals have the right to be free from human-caused pain, regardless of their species or conservation status!
