Hyena with snare around neck

October 2022
Yet another unintended victim saved from snare

A call came in to rescue a snared hyena on Balule Game Reserve. Together with our de-snaring partners, Wild Wonderful World funded the veterinary costs to safely dart the hyena and remove the snare. It would seem we intervened early enough that the wound wasn't too bad and the hyena should make a full recovery.

It is incredible to see how these animals bounce back, their will to survive is truly inspiring.

Your donations to our Rapid Response Fund is what enables us to fund these rescue missions on very short notice! They need your help to survive these cruel snare incidents.

Thank you to Wildscapes Vets, Blue Sky Society, Down 2 the Wire and African Wildlife Vets - for sharing the load in our fight against snares!
