Buffalo cow snaved from snare

December 2022
Successfully removed the snare around her mouth & neck

A snared buffalo cow was spotted on the western border of the Kruger National Park. Wild Wonderful World, together with our partner organisations in our snare rescue group, funded the immobilisation of the buffalo, in order to remove the snare that hindered her ability to feed. The buffalo was immobilised from a vehicle, and snare removed before it caused further damage.

The area is know for high-snare incidents, and during the same week a massive collaborative action removed over 100 snares (including cable snares) from the bushveld, combining forces of aerial & ground support.
