Born and raised in Belgium, I have travelled a fair amount, thanks to my family’s passion for diving. But after my degree in botany and landscaping, I’ve always been drawn to exploring different environments, and specifically Africa with its prolific wildlife and breathtaking nature. It’s a family holiday that brought me to South Africa the first time. I will never forget the feeling of serenity and belonging I felt on my first safari, and how devastated I was to leave after our trip. In fact, I remember a conversation with my parents in the plane, telling me that I should have been born in Africa, that it is where I belong.
After that first introduction to Africa, I kept coming back for more, volunteering wherever I could. I had some amazing experiences in conservation and hospitality, until I got stuck in South Africa during the first worldwide Covid lockdown. Although stressful, that time allowed me to meet my partner, with whom I live now in the Timbavati. I still have to pinch myself every day, and realize that I have the life I dreamed of, living in the bush and surrounded by wildlife.Travel planning quickly became a very obvious choice of career for me, as my family and friends kept on asking questions about Africa, and asking for help to plan their travels.
After getting as much experience as I could in travel planning with a small company focused on Europeans travelling to Africa, I was beyond excited to join the Wild Wonderful World team in January of 2023! I am so thrilled to be a part of the company, because it gives me the opportunity to stay true to the things I love the most, surrounded by the best team : explore Africa, and share its wonders with other people, as well as giving back to conservation!
