My love for the African bush started at a young age. My parents both lived and worked in the Timbavati Private Game reserve, where my father was a field guide and mother a chef at a private lodge. From our very first family holiday to the bush, I was exposed to the wonders of the natural world from when I took my first steps and have been tracking big & small game ever since.
My training as a guide started at a Private Game Reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Eight months of intense and exciting in-the-field training from some of the best in the business, not only threw me into an exciting world of tracking big game on foot, but also taught me all the finer details of Africa’s remarkable eco-system up close. I went on to do further training to become a bushwalking specialist. This involved tracking and viewing big game such as elephant, buffalo and rhino on foot, with a focus on ensuring that the animals were never aware of our presence. Another of my passions is the birds of Africa, having recorded just over 500 of Southern Africa’s 920 odd species to date.
Wildlife photography has become a true passion for me over the course of my guiding career. I have extensive experience with different types of photography equipment, working with both Nikon and Canon over the years during trips to various wildlife destinations across the continent. I enjoy taking the time to ensure my guests capture the images they've always dreamt of.
As a Private Guide, I am in search of adventure and natural wonder. I have travelled to many of Africa’s wildlife areas, but as there are so many more to explore, I cannot wait to book our next safari with you!
