Overview

An adventure of a lifetime

A great migration experience like no other - this exciting safari takes you on a journey from the Masai Mara in Kenya to the plains of the Serengeti and Grumeti in Tanzania, travelling the same circuit as a million Wildebeest, 250,000 Zebras and 350,000 Thomson's Gazelles. Step into the minds of these nomadic animals in their perennial pursuit of the greenest grass, with their activities peaking with the birthing season and the famous river crossings on the Mara - Serengeti border. Don't only witness the greatest natural spectacle on earth, but all the places they call home, too. Phenomenal year round game viewing at each of your stops will keep you enthralled from dawn to dusk.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrival - Nairobi, Kenya

Welcome to Kenya! From Nairobi we will whisk you straight to the Masai Mara where you will have your first glimpse of those iconic plains, stretching to the horizon. Settle into your new home for the next few days - Mara Plains Camp and head out on your first game drive and get in amongst the wildlife!

Days 2-4: Mara Plains, Masai Mara

The world famous Masai Mara is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration. Depending on where the migration has reached, you will either see them here, or at your next stop in the Serengeti. Explore these vast plains on game drives and on foot, or choose to float high above the animals in a hot air balloon!

Day 5: Hemingways Nairobi

Overnight in Nairobi to enable you to connect to an early morning flight to Tanzania the next morning. Make the most of your night in Nairobi and visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's Elephant Orphanage where you can watch as the baby elephants came back to their stalls after a day in the bush and receive their milk bottles!

Days 6 - 9: Legendary Serengeti Camp

Your migration journey continues today as you fly to the Serengeti. Legendary Serengeti is a luxury mobile camp that follows the migration on the Tanzania side, offering you a front-row seat to this mind blowing procession of animals as they wander across the plains. Whether it's calving season, migration or river crossings, you are likely to see it! Enjoy twice daily game drives, breakfast and lunch picnics and the unique opportunity to walk amongst the mighty herds of the migration.

Day 10: Departure - Arusha, Tanzania

After a final morning game drive and breakfast overlooking the plains of the Serengeti, you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your flight back to Arusha. In Arusha, arrive in time to connect with onward international flights home from Kilimanjaro International Airstrip.
