Become fully immersed in the wildlife experience with game drives and bush walks and spot-lit night drives that will reveal the elusive nocturnal life of the African landscape. This is prime big 5 viewing and you won't be disappointed. If you're interested, you'll have the chance to meet their k9 support unit responsible for protecting wildlife, especially rhino in the area for a small fee.
Day 5 sees the coming together of incredible contrasts, going from the lush landscapes of the Fish and Sand Rivers to the stark, yet beautiful Kalahari. Here you'll settle into Tswalu the Motse set against an absolutely magical backdrop. The green Kalahari is nature at its most diverse and surprising, and to spend time here is to be touched by exuberant, soulful beauty which can also be viewed from way above the earth on a helicopter safari (extra cost). Take your stay to the next level and sleep under the stars on the Malori Star Bed for a once in a lifetime experience.
After 8 spectacular nights in the wild, you'll settle into a slightly different landscape - Cape Town's luxurious and stately Ellerman House. Spend your days sightseeing in the city and nights in Cape Town's finest restaurants. Depending on your interests, there are a number of cultural or wildlife tours available - The penguins of Boulders Bay are not to be missed! Hike up Table Mountain or head to the winelands for a full day of wine tasting in the gorgeous vineyards that surround the area.
Today marks the end of your South African adventure. Transfer by road to Cape Town International airport to connect with onward flights home. Note: This itinerary is flexible to start and end from either Johannesburg or Cape Town, depending on your international flight schedule.
Optional: Learn about the protection of wildlife and enjoy a tracking dog demonstration. Interact with researchers studying both iconic and more obscure species (such as Aardvark and Pangolin) and witness scientific conservation in progress.
We've carefully selected local projects that are doing amazing work for conservation in the area. You can add a visit on to your itinerary which will automatically include a direct donation to their work. Note: Some of these projects may already be included in your itinerary!
